Bourgade Catholic High School (BCHS) broke ground on its 12,000 square foot new facility on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 9 a.m. Bishop John Dolan joined the school leadership for the ceremonial lifting of the dirt and offered a blessing of the construction site.
The new facility will hold the school’s newest addition to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program: Construction Technologies. The CTE programs offer students tangible skills that translate into meaningful careers. The new facility will feature a workshop, workday space, and dedicated classrooms. Once complete, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to train in masonry, wall framing, plumbing, electrical work, and worksite safety.
This project is made possible through BCHS’s partnership with the Shea Homes Family Foundation. Construction is expected to wrap up by summer 2027, with the first student cohort beginning training in the 2027–28 school year.
Nancy Padberg, MBA, President and CEO, shared, “Catholic Education Arizona is proud to congratulate Bourgade Catholic High School, Principal Tom Brennan, and The Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools Office on a milestone that will continue to prepare students not just academically, but for meaningful careers rooted in Catholic values.”
Many of the students who will benefit from this new program are supported by Catholic Education Arizona scholarships. We look forward to watching this program take shape and celebrating its success.
