Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School ‘83
Seton Catholic Preparatory ‘87
Background and Catholic Schools impact:
I am a native to Arizona, attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School and Seton Catholic Preparatory High School. Attending Catholic schools, along with a strong family support system, truly provided me with a great foundation to help me through our challenging society. Teachers, coaches, principals, and counselors all provided me with an amazing life education for which I will be forever grateful.
Accomplishments:
Most importantly, I have been blessed with a loving wife to which I have been happily married to for 23 plus years, and we have 3 healthy grown children who all graduated from Seton…our oldest Halle, class of 2016 and our twins, Riley and Ryan who graduated in 2019.
Upon graduating from Seton, I enrolled part-time at Mesa Community College to pursue my life-long dream of entering into the fire service. Finally, after 4 years, I obtained my AA degree in Fire Science and continued to work full time in the computer field until I received the call from the Mesa Fire Department that I had been accepted into their fire academy in 1994. In 2010, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Northern Arizona University which allowed me to promote through the fire service ranks to where I currently hold the position of Assistant Chief with the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
Finally, I have been fortunate to coach youth volleyball and baseball for many years and I am currently the Head Volleyball Coach at Seton.
Future plans:
I hope to successfully retire from the Mesa Fire Department in 5 years and transition into full time coaching and teaching possibly at the high school level. But most importantly, through my life experiences, no matter where my future leads me, I hope to be a positive mentor to others.
