PHOENIX, AZ (March 1, 2023) – School Tuition Organization Catholic Education Arizona held a 25th Anniversary mass and reception to celebrate creating future leaders through private education tax credits. The Most Reverend John P. Dolan, Bishop of the Diocese of Phoenix, and the Most Reverend Eduardo A. Nevares, Auxiliary Bishop, joined in the celebration at the event on February 25, 2023, at Xavier College Preparatory.

President and CEO of Catholic Education Arizona, Nancy Padberg, MBA, shared, “We are grateful to share this important milestone with so many who have supported us throughout the years. Both individuals and corporations understand redirecting their Arizona tax liability truly changes lives, families and communities.”

Former and current Catholic Education Arizona board members attended alongside current contributors in support of the 25th-anniversary celebration.

Since founded in 1997, Catholic Education Arizona has served the Diocese of Phoenix with the mission of serving the underserved, transforming culture, and changing lives. With the help of individual and corporate contributors, the organization has awarded 148,000 scholarships to students attending one of the 38 Phoenix Catholic schools.

Serving the underserved at the basis of its mission, Catholic Education Arizona makes it possible for any family to choose where their child receives education. Because of the loyal support of individual and corporate contributors, Catholic Education Arizona has sent thousands of students to the school of their choice to receive quality, faith-based education.

Individual tax contributors have until April 18, 2023, to make their contribution to Catholic Education Arizona. After the deadline, the Arizona Private Education Tax Credit cannot be claimed for the 2022 tax year, but can set up a scheduled pay for 2023.

Corporate tax contributors must submit their commitment form to the Catholic Education Arizona office by the deadline of June 30, 2023.

Individuals and corporations continue to support Catholic Education Arizona and The Diocese of Phoenix Catholic High Schools because of their impressive results:

  • 99.8% graduation rate
  • 97% of graduates matriculate to higher education, trade school, or enter military
    service
  • 1000s of hours of community service are conducted annually

Corporations and LLCs filing as S Corps, C Corps, and insurance companies paying premium tax can direct up to 100% of their state tax liability through participation in the Arizona Low Income and Disabled/Displaced Corporate tax credits through CEA.
