Why did your corporation decide to work with CEA through the Low-Income Corporate Tax Credit?
GCU is a firm believer in making Christian Education affordable and accessible. The Low-Income Corporate Tax Credit provides many families with opportunities for their child to attend a school that will enhance their Christian Faith by being in such a setting. Some of these families would not be able to afford a ‘faith-based’ environment for their child otherwise. The support that employees of GCU offer for this is truly a blessing to so many!
Your corporation has worked with CEA for a number of years, what brings you back every year?
GCU continues to partner with CEA because of the commitment of promoting Christian Education. Helping students to attend school settings that will strengthen their walk with Christ is a big part of our goal as a Christian University.
Do you find the tax credit process to be easy? Why?
The process for tax credits does seem easily accessible and is widely supported throughout the GCU campus. This process is accessible because we are able to work closely with our payroll department to have this money allocated each year to support Christian Education. Part of the process is to make the tax credit easier to access for our employees.
What sets your school apart from other schools within the community?
GCU is a ‘Private, Christian University’ that is committed to making education affordable and accessible. The facilities along with the rigorous academic programs provides an outstanding learning experience. The culture, community, and environment is welcoming and offers a completely ‘different feel’ than that of a secular institution. Being in a setting that shares the love of Jesus in words and actions truly puts GCU in a unique position in comparison to other schools that are similar in size and programs. The students, staff, and community work collaboratively to make GCU an amazing place!
Does your school show support within our community in other ways outside the tax credit?
GCU continually strives to serve the community of west-Phoenix and the greater Phoenix metro area. Students and staff are involved in a variety of programs, including one of the largest Habitat for Humanity chapters in the country. We are also involved in multiple service groups throughout Phoenix. GCU is committed to adding value to others and making a difference in the lives of others. GCU not only shares the love of Christ in words, but also in action. Helping our students achieve success and seeing them in turn helping others is a hallmark of our work at GCU.
