How has CEA helped make Catholic education attainable and affordable for your family?
First, we want to Thank Father God for even making this possible. My family relocated here to Phoenix, AZ in April 2016. Jordyn was 2 years old at the time. July 15 is Jordyn’s birthday it was a challenge just to find a public school close to home that offered full day pre-k services, every school only did half-day, and I worked a full-time job.
One day while driving down 35th Ave, the billboard outside the parking lot of St. Jerome read “Now Enrolling for Pre-K.” The next day I called the school and spoke with someone about enrollment. Everything was explained and administrator helped me apply for scholarships because I couldn’t afford to pay tuition. Everyone at St. Jerome was welcoming. They provided a tour of the beautiful school and explained that Jordyn would attend mass and learn all about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This put the icing on the cake.
What does a Catholic education mean to you and your family?
We are very grateful that Jordyn was accepted into the school with the help of scholarships. Not only will she get the recommended school courses, but she also gets to learn about Jesus. What a beautiful opportunity!
Why is this opportunity important to your family?
My faith in God is very strong. I might not attend church, but we pray for the Holy Spirit to be with us and in our home. I know for a fact that it is only through my faith and belief in God our Father that my family has made it this far. Jordyn is young what better way to instill the faith than when she goes to a school every day where they share in community and homework about God.
How would you thank those that have helped make your education possible through their state tax dollars and encourage them to continue to support Catholic Education?
I would thank them simply by making sure Jordyn benefits completely through what is offered and the opportunity she is receiving. Jordyn will understand that when you work hard, have positive support and guidance, and put God first you will make it a long way in life. We are thankful to the tax credit contributor for every good move she will make because of their generosity in her life. Every choice every she makes for a better future will be because of you giving her the opportunity for a better education. We will thank them through Jordyn’s success and bless them through prayer.
