CEA Associate: Caitlin Wooten
“My name is Caitlin Wooten, and I am Finance Manager at CEA. I have been with CEA for two years. Prior to coming to CEA, I worked at the Arizona Department of Revenue for nearly five years. My focus at ADOR was economic research with a specialty in Individual Income Taxes and STO compliance. I chose to leave the ADOR because I felt my skills could serve a more rewarding purpose. I strongly believe in a taxpayer’s ability to direct their state tax liability, and in what better way than to help thousands of children receive a quality education. As the Finance Manager at CEA, I focus on recording, tracking, and reporting of all tax credits and donations coming into CEA as well as all scholarship and donation disbursements leaving CEA back into the hands of our schools and community affiliates. I also have a strong focus on corporate relationships with those corporations participating in the Low Income Corporate scholarship program. I help corporations and their CPAs navigate their way through the simple approval process from signing a commitment form to claiming the credit on their tax returns.”
“I was born and raised in the small community of Cañon City, Colorado. There I was brought up in the Catholic faith but was unable to attend Catholic school because the option was not available in my town. My father was a youth minister, my mother taught RCIC, and my older brother and I were both altar servers. As a child, my father attended Catholic school in Tularosa, New Mexico and wanted to pass his faith on to our family. After graduating high school, I attended Regis University, a Jesuit Catholic University, in Denver, Colorado where I earned degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting. There I learned the importance of serving others, striving for excellence, and finding God in all things.”
