Tell us more about yourself professionally?
I led media and marketing firms in Santa Monica and San Francisco for twenty years and earned my MBA at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business. Graduates from Pepperdine University leave with the qualities of purpose, service, and leadership. I served on Advisory Boards for Pepperdine University, Iowa State University Greenlee School of Journalism, and Rutgers University. My expertise is growing people and revenue, building healthy cultures, and improving processes and technology. Today, I find inspiration from John Maxwell and Simon Sinek as a servant leader.
Personal background (where you grew up, went to school, hobbies, accomplishments, etc.)
I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where my grandfather built the altar at St. Patrick’s Church. We attended Catholic schools and weekly mass. I learned to golf at an early age and played well enough to play at ISU in the Big 12 Conference. My husband David and I have been married for 29 years and believe our Catholic faith is our constant source of inspiration. We have three children, love to wine taste, travel, golf, and walk our dogs Snickers and Buttercup. We are very happy to call Arizona home! Various honors include: selected by Los Angeles Business Journal as “Women Making a Difference,” named a top 50 content marketer in the U.S. by Cision, and earned President and Diamond Club awards at Hearst Media for innovation and growth.
What role does your faith play in your life?
It’s my strength every day. My Catholic school education taught me respect, discipline, value of others as well as finding my own gifts. My Catholic faith is the bedrock in which I watched our daughter grow and become a confident leader and All Saints Parish in Mesa embrace a widower, my father, and breathe life into him with Knights of Columbus, lead Donut Sundays and Spaghetti Saturdays and volunteering. It’s a community of love and support.
