St. John Vianney Catholic School: Preparing Students for College and Heaven
St. John Vianney Catholic School is a Catholic school serving students PreK-8. Guided by the Congregation of Holy Cross, the school is dedicated to educating students’ minds and hearts while encouraging them to embrace the call to serve in their community. Holding students to high academic standards, families can feel confident knowing their children are receiving one of the best possible Catholic educations.
Complete Educational Formation
Established in 1992, St. John Vianney Catholic School was originally a Catholic preschool under the leadership of Fr. Joe Corpora, C.S.C. A grade was added to the school each year after the school’s founding, and the first graduation of St. John Vianney’s eighth-grade class took place in May 2002.
Today, St. John Vianney Catholic School is still administered by the Congregation of Holy Cross. Led by principal Doug Weivoda, the school now teaches up to 360 students. Enrollment has grown each year for the last seven years.
Integrated Educational Experience
Students are gently guided through a process of complete educational formation with a rigorous academic education. St. John Vianney’s strong community, spirit, and academic excellence give students the well-rounded education they need to become informed citizens and Christians today and for the future.
The school uses the Discipline with Purpose Program (DWP), an approach to self-discipline, to help build students’ minds and hearts. The three classroom rules for DWP include:
Respect yourself, others, and things;
Contribute to the learning environment;
Follow classroom procedures.
Growing Minds
Students participating in St. John Vianney’s extracurriculars have received multiple honors including qualifying for the national finals of National History Day and placing at divisional and state robotics meets. St. John Vianney empowers its students to embrace their God-given talents and vocations to contribute positively to their local communities and their society.
Just like students’ minds, St. John Vianney continues to grow. In 2018, the school completed its expansion project to include 12,000 square feet of gymnasium complex and 10 additional classrooms. The school also ensures all grade levels have access to technological learning through the school’s iPad program, which features 1:1 iPads from grades 2-8.
