“I want to thank everyone who contributed to my education because without them I wouldn’t be able to attend a Catholic school,” said Ismael, scholarship recipient.
Students like Ismael share in our thankfulness to contributors for helping us change lives! Since 1998, Catholic Education Arizona has awarded over 153,000 tuition scholarships to underserved students through AZ Tax Credits to change lives, serve society, and transform culture.
There are four ways you can be a hero in a child’s life:
- AZ Individual Tax Credit
- AZ Low Income Corporate Tax Credit
- AZ Disabled Displaced Corporate Tax Credit
- Donation or Planned Gift (non-tax credit)
AZ Individual Tax Credit
Through the Individual Tax Credit, taxpayers can redirect their AZ tax liability to organizations like Catholic Education Arizona, funding scholarships for underserved students. This is a 100% dollar-for-dollar tax credit, which ultimately costs you nothing.
Tax Year 2023 tax credits are accepted until April 15, 2024. To take your contribution, visit CEAZ.org or call (602) 218-6542. You will receive a receipt as a confirmation of your contribution. Simply present your tax credit receipt to your tax preparer as proof of tax payment.
AZ Low Income Corporate Tax Credit
AZ businesses can join Grand Canyon University, Cigna, Earnhardt Automotive, APS, and hundreds more in impacting our community by redirecting their Corporate State Income Tax to fund scholarships. Through the Low Income Corporate Tax Credit, business owners can redirect up to 100% of their AZ Corporate Tax Liability to fund scholarships for students in low-income families.
AZ Disabled Displaced Corporate Tax Credit
Corporations can also fund scholarships for students with learning disabilities or who have been part of the AZ Foster Care system by redirecting their corporate tax liability through the AZ Disabled/Displaced tax credit.
Donations and Planned Gifts (Non-Tax Credit)
Contributors looking to give beyond their tax credit can give a donation or planned gift, such as bequest, stock, Donor Advised Fund grants, and more. Contact Jim Pogge, Director of Development, at jpogge@ceaz.org.
Becoming a hero in a child’s life is within reach today. Each contribution will provide access to quality education. To learn more, visit CEAZ.org or call (602) 218-6542.
Catholic Education Arizona is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization and has never accepted gifts designated for individuals. Per state law, a school tuition organization cannot award, restrict or reserve scholarships solely on the basis of donor recommendation. A taxpayer may not claim a tax credit if the taxpayer agrees to swap donations with another taxpayer to benefit either taxpayer’s own dependent.
