As tuition rates rise for private education in Arizona, the need for scholarship assistance continues to grow. Catholic Education Arizona launched the Changing Lives fundraising division to close the gap and expand scholarship assistance to all underserved families wanting to choose Catholic education. Donors to the new Changing Lives division will help educate underserved students and may also experience a tax or other financial benefit, depending on the giving vehicle.

Traditionally, individual and corporate tax credits fund Catholic Education Arizona scholarships. The Changing Lives division allows donors to give beyond their tax credit contributions. Donors can give through various options such as Bequests, IRA Charitable Rollover, Charitable Gift Annuity, Gifts to the Endowment, Stocks and Bonds, Cash Donations, and more.

President and CEO of Catholic Education Arizona, Nancy Padberg, MBA, shared, “Educating children impacts families and communities for generations. Now we have four contribution channels with the Arizona Individual Private Education, Arizona Low Income Corporate, Arizona Disabled/Displaced tax credits, and the new Changing Lives non-tax credit donation opportunity. For 25 years we have developed relationships with our 35,000 contributors who have also contributed non-tax donations to improve children’s lives.”

Changing Lives funds two revenue streams to fulfill unmet needs. The Education Growth Fund provides students with scholarships today, and the Endowment ensures access to scholarship assistance in the future.

Jim Pogge, Director of Development for Catholic Education Arizona’s new Changing Lives division said, “Supporting Catholic education is a key philanthropic goal for countless people throughout the Diocese of Phoenix. Many have expressed interest in offering donations in addition to their tax liability. Now, we have a donation vehicle for people to maximize their impact on students.”

Catholic Education Arizona believes all students should have access to quality education that best suits their educational needs. To learn how you can change lives, visit www.ceaz.giftlegacy.com or call 602-218-6542.
