Corpus Christi Parish was established in June of 1985.  Father Louis Anthony Sigman was appointed as the first Pastor of the Parish.  Corpus Christi was established to serve the Ahwatukee area.  Masses were first held at Mountain View Lutheran Church until January of 1989.  During the first few years, the parish grew from 300 to 1000 families.  By 1994, the parish decided it was time to build their permanent church.

The new church was dedicated in February of 1997.  One of the most unique features on the outside of the building is the 3-D Sculpture of “Jesus the Most High Priest” which is lit up at night and most welcoming to anyone walking or driving in the area.  It is a sight to behold.

Father Chad King was installed as Pastor in 2015.  He served until 2020.  Corpus Christi is now home to 2,500 parishioners!  Corpus Christi strives to be a welcoming community proclaiming the love of God and fostering a life-long personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His church, through Scripture, Sacraments and service.

Corpus Christi offers many opportunities for fellowship and ministry to parishioners.  Some ministries, service opportunities, and fellowship groups offered include:

  • Men of Saint Joseph Men’s Ministry
  • St. Gerard Circle, a Mom’s Ministry
  • The Knights of Columbus
  • Christ Child Society
  • Mats for the Homeless
  • Family Promise

Many families at Corpus Christi send their children to Catholic schools in the Diocese of Phoenix. There are approximately 5.8 million students attending private schools, including Catholic Schools, in the U.S. to receive an optimal educational experience.  By directing a portion of your Arizona state taxes to Catholic Education Arizona for the Private Education Tax Credit, you can help to support Catholic education.  To learn more about how to contribute through Individual and Corporate Tax Credits and how they work, contact Catholic Education Arizona today at 602-218-6542 or visit www.ceaz.org.
