Here at Catholic Education Arizona, we believe that diversity fuels change, growth, and a brighter tomorrow for not only our local Arizona community but also the world. We take pride in the Catholic schools we partner with, frequently showcasing success stories of students, teachers, and parents of all cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds. Here are some of the key ways that diversity is exemplified in Catholic Education across our family of schools.
Cultural and Racial Diversity
The most obvious way to see CEA’s commitment to diverse and inclusive education is by taking a look at the countless cultural backgrounds present in the student body itself. Our schools serve families in the Native American, Asian/Pacific Islander, African-American, Multi-Racial, Caucasian, and Hispanic communities, and more.
Different cultural backgrounds add more ideas and voices to classroom conversations, promoting critical thinking principles and pushing students to explore their beliefs, worldviews, and more.
Diversity in Economic and Educational Backgrounds
One of our primary functions at Catholic Education Arizona is to provide underprivileged minds with scholarships, giving them access to the tools they need to succeed in higher education, the workplace, and beyond.
Connecting students of all financial and educational backgrounds to the resources they need to grow is at the forefront of all we do, and we’re proud to see our partner schools full of students from all areas of our Arizona community.
Religious and Spiritual Diversity
Many people assume that Catholic schools are only for Catholic families and practicing students. This couldn’t be further from the truth! According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), 99% of students from Catholic schools graduate.
Across our CEA partner schools, our statistics show that around 20% of our students are non-Catholic, showing that children and teens of all religious backgrounds thrive in a Catholic curriculum.
Diversity is a core focus of CEA and Catholic education as a whole. After all, the word “Catholic” was first used to describe the church to emphasize its universal scope. We serve communities and students of all religions, races, education levels, financial backgrounds, and more. Are you curious about how you can support our cause?
