At St. Jerome Catholic School, students build their faith through Catholic traditions, community service to others, and devotional activities. When students enroll at St. Jerome Catholic School, they are welcomed into a nurturing environment that encourages the qualities you have already bestowed on them as a parent and the faith their domestic church and God have already instilled in them.

With the solid foundation that St. Jerome School helps build for its students, they are able to view the challenges of the world with knowledge as well as faith. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, St. Jerome Catholic School has been teaching students from preschool to 8th grade with a Christ-centered curriculum since 1965.

Attaining Excellence in Education

About one in 10 Catholic teens attends a Catholic school. Many of these teenagers have been attending Catholic schools since childhood. By receiving a Catholic education from the start, a foundation of academic excellence, faith, and service follow them throughout their personal development from childhood to adolescence.

At St. Jerome School, there are 190 students enrolled who are building this important educational foundation. All St. Jerome students study math, science, language arts, social studies, Spanish, technology, and Religion, all through a Catholic worldview. In these classes, they learn how to work collaboratively through small interactive groups, and they use the latest technology to work on projects and presentations. St. Jerome School also offers special classes including music, art, drama, and physical education. The school is led by principal Maureen Degrose, a long-time respected leader in the Diocese of Phoenix.

Responding with Compassion and Service

A quality Catholic education doesn’t only focus on academics but on how to serve the community as well. Within the school, students are part of a small, tight-knit community. There is one class per grade and 18 well-equipped classrooms. By maintaining these relatively small numbers, St. Jerome Catholic School is able to foster true relationships between students and between the students and school staff. Students in grades four through eight even have the opportunity to become leaders in their small community by participating in student council committees and overseeing athletic activities, the yearbook, and the school recycling program.

St. Jerome students also participate in community service outside of the school. They have ongoing opportunities for service through Catholic charities, St. Jerome Parish, and various classroom projects. Children in all grades also participate in service as Stewards of Social Justice, effectively tying together teachings of Catholic heritage and tradition and opportunities for helping others.
