St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Grade School is one of the top Catholic schools in the valley, serving students preschool through eighth grade with high academic standards. Led by principal Cynthia Scheller and pastor Fr. John Muir, the school ensures that no classroom exceeds 24 students, so every child receives the individualized Catholic education they deserve.

One of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School’s core believes is providing a holistic Catholic environment to serve the soul, body, and mind of each student. In a safe and vibrant academic environment, students develop intellectual and social skills to prepare them for a changing society.

Achieving high academic goals and objectives

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Grade School was established in 2003 by Fr. Kieran Kleczewski, V.F., and many leaders from the parish and school. Initially, the school provided Catholic education to fewer than 180 students. Today, the school serves more than 500 students in preschool through eighth grade. The school’s staff maintains high academic standards with 66% of the school staff holding a master’s degree or higher.

St. Thomas Aquinas School enables every student to gain the academic success they need to achieve the goals and objectives of the school’s curriculum in collaboration with other students and their families. The school encourages a formation in Catholic values and traditions including faith and moral perspectives, personal responsibility, and academic development.

Scholastic Reading Counts

St. Thomas Aquinas offers a wide variety of academic programs to boost student development. One of these top programs includes Scholastic Reading Counts (SRC). An independent reading program, SRC combines software-based reading assessments and reading practice to motivate students to achieve reading success, raise test scores, and develop reading skills.

The program allows teachers to monitor the reading progress of their students with instant feedback and support. Students earn rewards points throughout the year by completing quizzes and accomplishing reading goals.

Full academic development

Students at St. Thomas Aquinas not only develop their reading comprehension skills but also their skills in technology, physical education, art, music, and Spanish to ensure a well-rounded education centered on communication, cultures, and connections.
