February – A Month to Reflect on “Heart Health”

When we hear the phrase “heart health,” many of us immediately think of EKGs, balanced nutrition, and regular exercise—things that help us live longer, happier lives. This year, I’d like to take that idea a step further and reflect on another essential part of true heart health: our willingness to serve.

From a young age, many of us were taught to share our time, talents, and treasure for the benefit of others—to live with the heart of a servant. Some people seem born with that instinctive generosity, naturally leaning toward helping those in need, no matter their own circumstances. Others learn it over time, inspired by the compassion and kindness they witness in their families, communities, and workplaces. However it begins, serving others nourishes the heart in a way that nothing else can. It brings joy, fulfillment, and purpose—true markers of emotional and spiritual well-being.

How Is Your Heart Health?

As we begin February and look ahead to the start of Lent next month, it’s the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and refocus on service—not just for the 40 days of Lent, but as a daily way of living. At CEA, serving the underserved is at the very core of our mission. It guides our decisions, strengthens our purpose, and keeps our hearts aligned with what matters most: providing opportunities for students and families who need them most.

We are deeply grateful for all of you who have already contributed through the Arizona Individual and Corporate Tax Credits. Your generosity is making a lasting impact on children, families, and our community. Thank you for continuing to educate others, share the message, and partner with us to bring high-quality Catholic education within reach for thousands.

A Gentle Reminder: Tax Credit Deadline Approaching

If you haven’t made your Arizona Tax Credit contribution yet, there is still time!

The deadline to contribute for Tax Year 2025 is April 15.

Your contribution costs you nothing—yet it changes everything for the students we serve. Every dollar directly supports scholarships that open doors, strengthen families, and build a brighter future for our community.

Strengthen Your Heart in More Ways Than One

If you’re looking to boost your “heart health,” consider joining us in this mission. While I can’t guarantee that acts of kindness will replace the need for a stress test or a healthier diet, I can promise that the feeling of helping others is truly priceless. Service brings life to the heart—and to those we serve alongside.

Wishing you a joyful and love-filled February.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
